COLLECTOR OF PALETTES

During my studies I could not afford to buy canvases, oil paints or brushes. I often watched other students painting pictures, squeezing the oil paints from the tubes and mixing colors on the palette. I observed with great curiosity how the canvas works, how it is deformed under pressure of the brush, and how the spread paint marks out the first parts of the future painting. Then I began collecting palettes, which became my symbol, an artistic medium for creating my own interpretation of a picture. I was a Collector of palettes.
