PALETTE-CLOTHING (I)
2011 was a watershed year. After all my experiments with material and performance actions I decided to come back to a situation that occurred a few years before, where I scattered colorful balls in a space. To this end, I tore all the wool balls from my previous spatial objects and made them into an installation. After the exhibition, I made palette-paintings on the stretcher from the gathered materials, but crucially, I tore apart and mixed up the balls. With this decision I changed the principles of how the palette came to be, while changing its iconography. In sum, the transposition went from the spatial object to the installation, and finally ended up back on the surface. Then I wondered what to do to get inside of it? How to join the surface, the spatial object, the artist, and his work? I tore the palettes from the stretchers and from the fragments I made the first palette-clothing. From then on, it has been an inseparable part of all my performances.
