The light illuminates the material, creating stained glass. We see how the material casts a shadow, an undefined form appears enlarged on the wall, ceiling and floor. The shape of the shadow is nothing other than the limits of the material. Both the stained-glass and the shadow strip the material of its subjecthood and free it from depiction.
